Amish quilts have always fascinated me - I am quite taken with their simplistic beauty, their stunning use of solid color fabrics, and their history. In 2024, I was fortunate to see an exhibit of such quilts at a museum. There was an amazing Broken Star quilt right at the entrance that just drew me in and I knew I wanted to try to capture its beauty in a cross stitch design. I thank the anonymous Amish woman from a century ago who chose such a stunning color palette for her quilt and I honor her vision by choosing similar colored DMC threads for this pattern.
Model stitched on 32 count Charcoal Gray Belfast linen using DMC threads:
161, 310, 437, 745, 813, 992, 3712, and 3831
stitch count: 149 x 149
